The Mataura Flyer

A unique opportunity for a short train ride out of Gore

The below trip has sold out.

If you still want to take a train ride on the 8th of May there are still seats available on the morning  trip from Invercargill to Gore return.

See here for details

If you are based in and around Gore:

We are selling the morning trip out of Invercargill as a return trip but we'd be ok if you wanted to share your tickets and have one person travel from Invercargill to Gore and then change to have someone else travel from Gore to Invercargill, you could then potentially share a vehicle to/from Invercargill.  Just let us know at the time of booking either on the phone or in the notes field if you book online.

Details of sold out trip:

On Monday the 8th of May Dunedin Railways is running a short one hour joy-ride  trip down to Mataura in the Silverfern railcar .  The train will depart Gore Station at 10.30 arriving back at 11.30am.

Allan Boyer (long time Gore resident) will be the train manager and he is sure to provide insightful commentary about his home patch.

There will be food and drink for sale onboard so make sure you bring some cash for this as EFTPOS may not be a availalbe.

There wont be time to get off the railcar in Mataura and this trip is purely a joyride starting and finishing in Gore.

Book by clicking  'Book now' above or calling Dunedin Railways  03 4774449.

Once you have booked you just need to be at Gore Station by 10.20am on the 8th of May. When the train arrives people will be disembarking (on a trip from Invercargill) so please let them get off first.  The crew will let you know when the train is ready for boarding.

If you book online you will be offered the option of purchasing a packed lunch.  Please don't order one of these as our supplier  is in Dunedin and it would be a couple of days old by the time it got to you!

$20.00 per adult
